John Floyd Sr. recently defended a chiropractic physician in a malpractice case in New Jersey. The Plaintiff alleged that the Defendant chiropractic physician negligently performed spinal manipulations on her lumbar spine that caused her to suffer multiple ruptured disc which lead to two subsequent surgeries. As a result of the alleged negligence, the Plaintiff was unable to return to her job and claimed loss wages in the amount of $650,000. The medical expenses claimed were in excess of $290,000. During the course of the trial, the Plaintiff’s attorney decided that he and his client wanted to settle the case for substantially lower than previously demanded. After several hours of negotiation, the case was resolved favorably to the defendant chiropractor.
