About John Floyd Jr.
Biography
John Floyd, Jr. is a native Nashvillian and is delighted to be back in his beloved city with Floyd Law Group. After completing his undergraduate work at Sewanee, Mr. Floyd went on to pursue his law degree at the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at The University of Memphis, earning his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2016.
During law school, Mr. Floyd served as Articles Editor for The University of Memphis Law Review and received numerous awards for his oratory skills and talent in various competitions. He was also awarded the CALI Award for Highest Grade in Civil Rights. Mr. Floyd interned with Judge Hamilton Gayden of Davidson County as well as Judge Julia S. Gibbons of the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals while in law school. Mr. Floyd is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Nashville Bar Association.
Inspired by his father’s long and successful career in the courtroom, Mr. Floyd has found equal passion for the competitive nature of being a trial lawyer. An excellent communicator, Mr. Floyd is known for achieving favorable results for his clients and considers it a privilege to help them get there.
Mr. Floyd is married to Caitlin, who is also an attorney, and enjoys traveling, exercising, fishing, and discussing politics.
